Biography Jim Terry has been associated for many years with the Canada Safety Council (CSC) and is currently on the Board of Directors. Along with a teaching certificate in Teaching & Training Adults, Jim has over 23 years of teaching experience and is a Chief Instructor for the Canada Safety Council Motorcycle Training Program. He began his career as a motorcycle mechanic and still holds current Mechanic Licenses for Motorcycle, Marine and Small Engines. He has a desire to transfer his appreciation for the sport to others through safety education. After his initial success and enjoyment in motorcycle training, Jim was encouraged by the positive difference the safety training he delivered made in the lives of his students. As a result, he has expanded his training into his other areas of interest becoming a Chief Instructor for the CSC ATV RiderCourse and an Instructor for the CSC Driver training courses: Defensive Driving, 55 Alive and Professional Driver Improvement Courses. In 2007, he added the CSC Snowmobile Operators Course. In 2002, Jim’s achievements were recognized with the CSC Outstanding Chief Instructor Award. As well, he was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for his dedication and contribution to driving safety education. Involved in shooting sports since childhood, Jim is active in bringing his passion for these sports to the teaching arena as well. In addition to being an Instructor / Examiner for both the Canadian Firearms Safety Course and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course and an Instructor / Examiner for the Ontario Hunter Education Program, he is also a Canadian Police Combat Association (CPCA) Police Pistol Combat (PPC) Instructor, a CPCA PPC Referee, and is International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Qualified & CPCA PPC Qualified. In 2008 he is adding the International Bowhunter Education Program. Jim is the President of the Barrie Boss Gobblers Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation, on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Hunt Camp Association, and a member of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, the Barrie District Hunters and Anglers Conservation Club, and Ducks Unlimited.
